Natural Stone
About Your Onyx Handles
Onyx is one of nature's most extraordinary materials. Formed deep within the earth over millennia, each piece carries a wholly unique character — a fingerprint of the planet itself.
Colour & Tone
Your handles may appear lighter or deeper depending on the light source. Natural daylight, warm incandescent, and LED lighting can all reveal different qualities in the stone — this is entirely normal.
Veining & Pattern
The veining and patterning across each handle is completely unique. No two pieces will match exactly, even within the same order. This is what makes natural stone so extraordinary.
A Precious Material
Onyx is a precious and semi-precious stone, prized for its rarity and beauty. Treat it with the same respect you would give any treasured natural material in your home.
A Note on Natural Variation
No two onyx handles will ever be identical. Every piece carries its own pattern of veining, depth of colour, and tonal variation. What you receive is entirely unique to you — a characteristic that is the hallmark of genuine natural stone, not a flaw.
Installation Instructions
Installing Your Handles
Before You Begin
Incorrect installation may cause damage to the stone. The guidance below is specific to natural stone handles and differs from standard hardware installation. Please follow it carefully.
Hand Tools Only — No Power Tools
Do not use power tools or electric screwdrivers at any point during installation. The vibration and torque generated by electric tools can stress, crack, or damage natural stone. Always use a manual hand screwdriver.
Tighten Securely — Not Overly Tight
Screws should feel secure and firm, but must not be overtightened. A snug fit is all that is required. Excessive force can crack or fracture the stone around the fixing points.
Position Before Fixing
Confirm alignment before beginning to fasten. Avoid repositioning once screws have started to engage, as repeated movement can introduce micro-stress into the stone over time.
Check Fastenings Periodically
Fixings can gradually loosen with regular use. Check periodically and hand-tighten gently if needed — always by hand, never with power tools.
A Note on This Finish
As a polished natural stone, this finish is more delicate than synthetic alternatives and may be prone to surface scratching. Take extra care during installation to avoid any contact between tools or abrasive surfaces and the face of the stone.

How to Look After Your Onyx
Surface Scratching Warning
As a polished natural stone, the surface of your onyx handles may be prone to scratching. Avoid contact with abrasive materials, hard objects, rough cleaning tools, or even fine particles of grit or dust.
- Clean with a soft, damp cloth only. A microfibre cloth is ideal — gentle, non-abrasive, and safe for polished stone.
- After cleaning, dry the surface thoroughly. Do not allow water to sit on the stone, particularly near fixing points.
- Avoid all abrasive cleaning products, scourers, or any tool with a gritty or textured surface.
- Do not use acidic cleaners, bleach, vinegar, or lemon-based solutions — these can etch and dull the surface over time.
- Avoid prolonged contact with oils, hairsprays, perfumes, or chemical-based products, which can stain the stone's finish.
- If a mild cleaner is needed, use only a pH-neutral, stone-safe product diluted in water. Rinse and dry thoroughly after.
- If any product makes accidental contact, wipe away immediately with a clean damp cloth, then dry completely.
Lighting & Appearance
Different lighting conditions can significantly change the appearance of your handles. Natural daylight reveals cooler tones; warm lighting brings out depth and warmth. Both are a true and accurate representation of your onyx.
