Mortdale Apartment by Jim's Bathrooms

This Mortdale apartment, tucked into Sydney's south, proves that big luxury doesn't need a big footprint. Steven Sousamlis, designing and building under the Jim's Bathrooms banner, built a Taj Mahal marble waterfall island as the kitchen's centrepiece, then carried the same Marble Ova Touchstone Pull Handle through to the bedroom wardrobe in a second, deeper finish, with complete relocations and a few extra special touches throughout.

The waterfall island

The kitchen is built around its stone. A Taj Mahal waterfall island rolls down into a curved timber base, with the same warm, softly veined marble carried through to the benchtop and splashback behind it. It sets the tone for the whole room, soft lines, warm timber, and a full run of light oak cabinetry.

Marble Ova Handle, Taj Mahal

On the pantry cabinetry beside the ovens, a Marble Ova Touchstone Pull Handle in Taj Mahal picks up the same stone as the benchtop. It was chosen specifically to match, so the kitchen reads as one continuous material story rather than a stone plus hardware afterthought.

Marble Ova Handle, Calacatta Viola

In the bedroom, the same handle reappears in an entirely different mood. Finished in Calacatta Viola, it dresses the full wardrobe wall, its deep veining echoed again in the built in Calacatta bedside top just beside the bed, a quiet, considered detail on opposite sides of the room.
